The Home Care Package wait times depend on a few factors. These include your approved HCP level, level of urgency, and the general demand for those support services in your area.
Generally speaking, HCP participants wait three to six months before My Aged Care contacts them.

Home Care Packages are aged care services for older Australians with complex care needs. These elderly individuals want to continue living at home rather than move to a nursing home. But they need some help to live in the comfort of their own home.

Once you apply for a Home Care Package and get assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT), you will receive a letter. This letter will confirm whether you are eligible for Home Care Package funding.
The approval letter will also contain information regarding which Home Care Package level you have been assigned.
But, even though you've been approved for an HCP, that doesn't mean you'll be able to receive care services right away.

The average expected wait time is between three and six months, but some HCP recipients may have to wait even longer.

The CHSP doesn't offer different services for older people, but it's for those with short-term, low-level needs.
